6th Street Sundays - a new series hosted by The Community Synagogue in the East Village. New York City’s best classical and world musicians will be hosted monthly in this unique setting. "6th Street Sundays" also offers a master class or interactive workshop presented by the artists before each performance. This innovative series is sure to offer an enjoyable and complete learning experience for the listener in this vibrant community. 6th Street Sundays is curated by cellist Jessie Reagen Mann, with the artistic advice of Saxophonist and Rabbi Greg Wall.

For our workshop: bring a melodic instrument, or and drum (you can clap as well!) -- we will be going over some melodies, rhythms and scales from the repertoire we will perform : Armenian, Balkan and middle eastern.

CD RELEASE of "East of the River".

"East of the River" is a new project by Nina Stern and Daphna Mor.
Mor and Stern, internationally renowned recorder soloists, have appeared playing as a duo on stages as various as Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center with the New York Philharmonic and Joe’s Pub at the Public Theatre in New York City.

In this recording they collaborate with producer Jamshied Sharifi, who has worked with acclaimed musicians such as Hassan Hakmoun and Yungchen Lhamo. Nina and Daphna invited their favorite musicians from New York’s extraordinary musical scene to join in this project. The resulting combination of foremost musicians from classical, jazz and world music backgrounds creates the unique blend that is "East of the River".
